STARTING AT 8:45AM – ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS,

                          8:25AM - HOUSTON SECONDARY. 

THESE SCHOOLS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 11:30AM

SMITHERS SECONDARY, (Grade 8 Only Start 8:30AM- Dismiss at 11:30)

    Reading Clubs for Kids and Teens- Engage your students in fun summer readings with reading clubs for kids and teens.

    The theme for British Columbia’s 20th annual Kids’ Reading Club is "Reading Rocks". Please encourage your students to register at their local public libraries. Kids can find quizzes, reading suggestions on the website and take part in various activities at libraries.

    Teens are encouraged to join the online, year-round Teen Reading Club. Participants can post book reviews, find reading suggestions, chat with other teens and win contest prizes on the website.

  • Full Day Kindergarten

    Kindergarten Registration Week - February 22-26, 2010

    The Ministry of Education is phasing in universal access to Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) over 2 years.  FDK programs will be run at Silverthorne, Twain Sullivan, Telkwa, Muheim (English), Lake Kathlyn, and one class at Walnut Park for the 2010-2011 school year.  The second class at WP will remain half day.  Please note that children registered in FDK programs will be expected to participate the full day.

    After not having a grade 8 basketball team for several years, the Houston Secondary boys placed 3rd out of 8 teams in the NW Zones.  Coach Kevin Horsnell and Assistant Sean Warren.
