Trustee Candidate Forum –School Board Elections 2026

The 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

As has been customary in previous Trustee Election cycles, School District #54 (Bulkley Valley) is pleased to invite valued stakeholders in the K–12 education system to attend the upcoming Trustee Candidate Forums. These forums provide an opportunity to meet the candidates seeking election as school trustees and hear their perspectives on educational issues and priorities in the Bulkley Valley.

Electoral Zone 4 – Houston

Electoral Zones 1, 2 and 3 – Witset, Smithers and Telkwa

Forum Format

The forums will be moderated by Lauren Smaha-Muir, Secretary Treasurer.

Trustee candidates will be invited to respond to a series of prepared questions addressing educational topics and issues relevant to the Bulkley Valley. This will be followed by an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions from the floor.

These forums are an important opportunity to engage with trustee candidates, learn about their views and priorities, and participate in the democratic process that helps shape the future of public education in our communities.
